Science Factors Submission Checklists

Authors must complete this checklist before submitting a manuscript through the online submission system. Submissions that do not meet these requirements may be returned without review.

I. Manuscript Preparation

✔ The manuscript is written in clear, formal academic English
✔ The file is in Microsoft Word format (.docx)
✔ Text is double-spaced with 12 pt Times New Roman font
✔ All pages are numbered consecutively

II. Article Structure

✔ The manuscript includes all required sections:

  • Title Page
  • Abstract (within word limit)
  • Keywords (3–6)
  • Main text (Introduction, Methods, Results, Discussion, Conclusion)
  • References (Vancouver style)
  • Figures and Tables (if applicable)

✔ Section headings are clearly defined and properly formatted

III. Title Page Details

✔ Full manuscript title is concise and informative
✔ All author names and affiliations are provided
✔ Corresponding author is clearly identified
✔ Valid email address for correspondence is included
✔ Total word count is stated

IV. Abstract and Keywords

✔ Abstract meets the required word limit
✔ Abstract summarizes objectives, methods, results, and conclusions
✔ No references or citations are included in the abstract
✔ 3–6 relevant keywords are provided

V. Figures and Tables

✔ All figures are submitted as separate high-resolution files (≥300 dpi)
✔ Figures are clearly labeled with appropriate legends
✔ Tables are editable (not images)
✔ Tables include titles and necessary footnotes
✔ Figures and tables are cited in the text in correct order

VI. References (Vancouver Style)

✔ All references are numbered in order of appearance
✔ In-text citations match the reference list
✔ Reference format follows Vancouver style
✔ All references are complete and accurate
✔ DOIs are included where available

VII. Ethical Compliance

✔ The work is original and has not been published elsewhere
✔ The manuscript is not under consideration by another journal
✔ All authors have approved the submission

✔ Where applicable:

  • Ethical approval has been obtained
  • Informed consent has been secured
  • Animal research guidelines have been followed

VIII. Conflict of Interest and Declarations

✔ All potential conflicts of interest are disclosed
✔ Funding sources are clearly stated
✔ Acknowledgments (if any) are included with permission

IX. Data and Transparency

✔ Data is accurately presented and not manipulated
✔ Methods are described in sufficient detail for reproducibility
✔ Supporting data or supplementary materials are included where necessary
✔ Data availability statement is provided (if required)

X. Submission Requirements

✔ All required files are prepared:

  • Main manuscript file
  • Figures (separate files)
  • Supplementary materials (if applicable)
  • Cover letter

✔ The cover letter includes:

  • Brief summary of the study
  • Significance of the work
  • Confirmation of originality

✔ All metadata (authors, title, abstract) is correctly entered in the online submission system

XI. Final Author Confirmation

Before submission, authors confirm that:

✔ All information provided is accurate and complete
✔ The manuscript complies with Factors Academic Press guidelines
✔ All authors agree to the submission and publication policies
✔ The authors understand that failure to comply may result in rejection
